Walter (Erik Tyme) Gilbert Thorne
June 25, 1951 - February 24, 2010
A multifaceted artist/jeweler who found inspiration in nature
Walter G. Thorne, age 58, was born June 25, 1951 in Long Beach, California. He lived in many parts of the country – always coming back to Washington. Most of Walter’s friends knew him as ERIK. ERIK was an art jeweler, wrote poetry and drew pictures. He also had a hosting company on the web and designed websites. He loved the outdoors. Just taking a drive into the mountains would make him happy, and would help if he was having a bad day.
Walter (ERIK) is survived by his parents Alfred and Helen Thorne of Port Orchard, WA; his sister Leta Webster of Port Orchard, WA; and his brothers Alfred Thorne, Jr. of Alaska, George Thorne of Everett, WA and John Thorne of Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Walter (ERIK) will be greatly missed by his partner Lynne and her family, who loved and cared for him until his death; Christopher, a young man Erik was very proud to know, and by his many friends and clients.
You may go to the guestbook on this site and leave a few thoughts if you wish, or light a candle in Walter's (ERIK’s) name.

The Courage of Life
The courage of life is often a less dramatic spectacle than the courage of the final moment; but it is no less a magnificent mixture of triumph and tragedy.
John F. Kennedy
Despite the Cost
I can wish for things
I never had
like communication
with my mom and dad
I can hope and pray
that Life will somehow be
a place to enjoy
all the wonders we see
I can wish for dreams
that take me far
like past the moon
and out into the stars
I can hope and pray
to meet others like me
in the vastness of space
making history
I can wish for love
to fill a heart
at the very moment
our meeting starts
I can hope and pray
she'll see I am hers
and want me forever
and say those words
But I just wish for strength
to say thanks to above
for all that I am
personally capable of
and I hope and pray
I am never lost
for I love this life I live
despite the cost
