Anna June Witten

June 17, 1921 - January 25, 2016

Anna June Witten, aged 94, died peacefully in the loving presence of family on January 25, 2016 at the Brookdale Assisted Living Facility in Everett, WA.

The youngest of six children, June was born to Orville and Leta Mae (Walker) Poorbaugh on June 17, 1921, on a farm outside of Thayer, Kansas. After attending Phillips University in Norman, OK, she married Warren Keith Witten on Dec. 14, 1941. June was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and loving friend. She is survived by daughter Susan Van Reenen, sons Keith and Stephen, and their spouses; grandchildren Jennifer, Daniel, Amy, Benjamin, John and Nathaniel; and great grandchildren Kiah, Isaiah, Aden, Xavier, Warren, Oliver, Emma, Charlotte, and Claire.

June is remembered by her children as a wonderful mother and was very supportive to them as a leader in Cub Scouts and Camp Fire Girls. She loved to cook and sew and made most of her own clothes. After retirement, she and Warren traveled extensively in the US and Europe and were active in square dancing and Master Gardening.
