Herbert "Neil" Hanson
April 29, 1941 - December 05, 2006
Passion was behind the chair telling jokes
Herbert "Neil" Hanson lost his battle with heart and kidney disease on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at the age of 65. He was surrounded by his wife and family at the time of his death. Neil was born in Little Falls, Minnesota on April 29, 1941 and was raised in Snohomish, Washington. He later moved to Lynnwood where he met his true love, Sharon. They married on November 30, 1963. Neil was a barber by trade and owned numerous barber shops and schools over the years. He and his wife opened Crown School of Hair Design in 1969 and helped train many of the barbers and cosmetologists who still currently practice throughout the state of Washington. However, his passion was behind the chair where he could spend time telling jokes with his customers and making them smile. He will be deeply missed by the thousands of people he has touched. In his spare time, Neil loved to fish, read Civil War books, and man the Barbeque for family and friends. His favorite activity was spending time with his grandchildren, which he deeply loved. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his caring and sensitive demeanor, his strength, and devotion to his family. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sharon; daughter, Kim (Jeff); son, Matt; sister, Debbi (Dave); aunt, Dorothy; and two extremely special grandchildren, Savannah and Skylar. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert; mother, Genevieve; and brother, Leslie.
