Susan T. Castle-Lovejoy

December 21, 1940 - July 28, 2016

Her Light Continues to Shine In Each of Us

Susan T. Castle Lovejoy, 75, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2016. She was born December 21st, 1940 in Warsaw, Indiana.

Daughter of Una and Richard Traver, she is survived by her son James Castle, daughter Deborah Castle, sisters Jane Silverman and Rachel Schwedt, and brother George Traver.

Susan brought light and joy to every life she touched, whether it be human or animal. If there was a rainbow, dragon, unicorn, crystal, bubbles, or anything sparkly around, you knew she was close by. She had a gift for genius ideas, and got others inspired and excited too.

Through her work in creating Camp de L’Espoir, a Canadian based family camp for kids with cancer, she helped heal families through the gift of laughter, song, dance, art and nature.

She also brought peace to families who traveled by taking care of their home and pets as if they were her own. And, she would always leave behind a token of her love and appreciation of you.

Her body will be missed, but her light continues to shine in each of us.

Miss Me, But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room,
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little-but not too long,
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared.
Miss me-but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take,
And each must go alone.
It is all a part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart,
Go to the friends we know,
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss me-but let me go.

Final Vision

Life is the flash of a firefly in the night.

It is the breath of the buffalo in the winter.

It is the little shadow which runs across the grass

and loses itself in the sunset.
