John Curtis Woodruff

John Curtis Woodruff - a patient and caring man

John Curtis Woodruff, 72, of Everett, WA passed away peacefully on August 10, 2016.

John was born in Portland, Oregon to Howard and Lillian Woodruff, who have predeceased him in death. John enlisted in the Navy at 17 years of age and spent most of his Navy career as a Torpedo Man's Mate and then a Navy Recruiter before retiring after 20 years.  While in the Navy, John was awarded four Good Conduct Medals and a Meritorious Unit Commendation, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy Achievement Medal, National Defense Service and Vietnam Service Medal. John also received a Letter of Commendation for the Silver Star.

After retiring from the Navy, he worked at various occupations and then retired in 2012 after 20 years as a Rental Car Security Manager at the Port of Seattle.

John loved to golf and did so whenever he could with his favorite partners, his Dad and his son, Nick and friends, Mike Johnson and Paul Butler.

John is survived by his wife, Mikelle; son, Nicholas (Denise Bergeron) Woodruff; grandson, Anthony (Lindsay) Woodruff and great-granddaughters, Eden and Lillian Rose. Also, step children, Jessica (JR) Willard and their children, Tyler Ryan and Jacob Warner, Hal (Kristi) and Del (Meagan) DeSart and their families; brothers, Jim (Phyllis) Woodruff and Bob (Joyann) Woodruff; nephews, Jerry, Pat, Mike, John, William and Russell; and niece, Tawyna; numerous aunts, uncles, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

John was a patient and caring man, very much a gentlemen and will always be remembered by those who loved him for these qualities. He will be missed but never forgotten!
