Marty ~ Beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and girlfriend

Marty passed peacefully on Sept. 21 at Swedish Medical Center, Edmonds with sister Bonnie by her side. Marty endured numerous medical problems the last few years.

Born October 21, 1951 to Doris and Harold Heiret, Marty had many life challenges, developmental disabilities, 2 open heart surgeries and in the end, aplastic anemia.

Marty loved friends and family. She loved Disneyland. She loved rock n roll music, had great rhythm and loved to dance. She was able to attend many concerts, most recently “Chicago” at Ste. Michelle Winery in June.

Marty loved her DVD’s & watching The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, Full House, I Love Lucy, The Partridge Family and anything Disney. She was blessed with a loving and supportive family, and enjoyed Grandma’s house with her sister, brother and cousins growing up. Her mother Doris was especially dedicated to making Marty’s life as happy as possible.

Marty lived for many years at NW Family Home until they closed in 2013. Her final year was spent at Princess Care Home with loving care and attention provided by John R. and his family.

Special people in her life were her sister Bonnie, brother Steve, niece Ali, nephew Milo, boyfriend of 30 years Bill O’Neal, cousin Machelle Gonzales and husband Ed, best friend Marcia Taylor, and extended family. We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to John and everyone at Princess Care for their wonderful support during Marty’s final months.

Marty touched many lives and we thank her for the lessons she taught us! RIP, dear girl.

All is Well

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I, you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, that we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name,
speak to me in the easy way you always used to.
Put no difference in your tone,
wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.

Let my name be ever the household word it always was,
let it be spoken without effort,
without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.

Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near, just round the corner.
All is well.

Henry Scott Holland

God's Garden

God looked around his garden and found an empty place
He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest
With the help of his angels they flew you to your heavenly place
God's Garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best
He knew you were suffering, He knew you were in pain
He knew that you would never get well on earth again
He saw the road was getting rough and the hills too hard to climb
He closed your weary eyelids and whispered "Peace be Thine"
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone
For part of us went with you the day God called you home
