Carl Duane Peterson

Loyalty to family, friends and country was only surpassed by his love for God

Carl Duane Peterson, age 55, passed away at his home in Marysville, WA on January 21, 2017.  He was born March 2, 1961, in Seattle, Washington, to his parents, Ervin and Lenore Peterson.  He graduated from Mountlake Terrace High School in 1979.  After high school graduation, Carl joined Washington Air National Guard, and spent 26 years with the 215th EIS unit out of Everett, WA.  where he enjoyed repairing and installing electronic equipment at Air Force bases all over the world.  He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 2005.  During those years, he made many good friends and enjoyed the challenges of the work.  In 1985 Carl was hired by Boeing, where he spent 31 years in Quality Assurance.  During those years he earned both his Bachelor’s and two Master’s degrees from Columbia College.  He retired from Boeing due to metastatic melanoma in 2016.

Carl’s loyalty to family, friends and country was only surpassed by his love for God. He loved people, pets, books, tools, and collecting and repairing things.  He was known for his generosity, thoughtfulness, intelligence, inventiveness and courage.  His family, coworkers and friends were always the objects of his desire to help at any time, in any way.

Carl was predeceased by his father, Ervin, and sister, Cheryl DeBoer.  He is survived by his loving wife, Cristy, his mother, Lenore Peterson (Jim Taylor) of Anacortes, WA sister, Karen Coragiulo (Michael) of Marysville, WA, daughters, Pricilla and Allison; nephews Eric DeBoer ( Amy), CJ Deguzman (Esperdion & Malou), Chad Coragiulo, and niece, Alicia Coragiulo,(Chris Adkins), and great-niece Erin Coragiulo-Adkins.  He will also be greatly missed by his Uncle Richard Sommers (Bev), Aunt Elaine Peterson, Uncle Wayne Brisbane, his numerous cousins, as well as Cristy’s extended family and his many close friends.
