Emma King, age 88, of Snohomish, peacefully passed away on May 1, 2017 in Everett. Emma Louise Fitzwilliam King was born in Ketchikan Alaska on May 4, 1929. She had a wonderful time growing up in the small Alaskan town. She went down to the docks as a seven year old to give historical information of the towns totem poles to tourists. Sheworked at the salmon cannery later as she got older and went on to earn her pilot license to fly float planes at the age of 18. She moved to Washington state to go to school at Auburn Academy. She met Leslie King while working at Boeing and they married on August 29, 1952. In 1962 they bought property in the Lake Roesiger area and together with their four children built a house. Les and Emmy did much traveling, driving to every state and National Park. Also drove to every Province of Canada and drove as far north as the Artic Circle. Emmy Lou loved and cared for people. She had many friends and she was always smiling. She loved animals and enjoyed the company of many over the years. She loved to read, educating herself on a variety of topics.
Emma was preceded in death by her sister Joanna, her daughter Jewell, and her husband Les. She is survived by her Son Rick, her daughters Valerie and Cheri, close friend Cherie, grandchildren Toni, Angie, Nathan, Rachel, Jeremiah, Michael, Joshua, Mandi, and Anne, as well as 14 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
