Melissa Joan Wood

June 12, 1946 - July 30, 2017

Grateful to a strong mother, sister, daughter and grandmother

Melissa Joan Wood age 71 passed away peacefully in Everett on July 30, 2017.  She was born and raised in Seattle and graduated from Roosevelt High School.  Her career life consisted of several clerical positions, working for a florist but she truly loved working with animals.  Melissa had a true passion for animals and rescued too many to count over the years.

Melissa lived most of her life in the Everett area with a stint on the east coast in New Hampshire.  She is survived by her father David Wood, her brother Randy Wood, her son Daniel Tuttle and her daughter Jeanine Fitzgerald.  She has three grandchildren: Douglas, Daniel, and Brandon.

Melissa will be remembered as a strong willed person would will say it like it was.  With a great sense of humor and a soft heart, those that knew Melissa admired her determination, toughness and grit. Her family is grateful to have such a strong mother, sister, daughter and grandmother to remember. We would like to thank Carol and the Korean Women’s Association for their many years of caring support for Melissa.
