Khristine Ann (Khristi) Hurst

October 18, 1958 - October 23, 2017

Khristine Ann (Khristi) Hurst, 59, of Marysville, WA is truly an amazing woman who passed into the next life on October 23, 2017. Khristi was always a kind and giving soul, ready to help anytime and anywhere. Her immense generosity shines brightly, even now, through her selfless act of being an organ donor to impact the lives of people she has never known.

Khristi was born on October 18, 1958 at Streator, IL to Ralph and Barbara Tissiere of Odell, IL and grew up on the family farm where she learned to love animals and became a great cook. She graduated early from Odell Community High School in 1976 with high honors and enrolled in the nursing program at Joliet Junior College. However, her plans changed as she started a family and a business. Always looking forward to a new challenge, she eventually entered technical college to pursue employment in the digital arena. As her career began, she worked long hours, often traveling across country, all the while continuing her education and tending to her family. Her educational efforts culminated in 2013 when she achieved her Master of Science degree in Information Technology & Project Management, though there was never a day she stopped learning. Khristi always pushed to improve herself and the lives of those around her, making lasting impacts with several corporations and many freelance clients before moving to live happily in the Pacific Northwest where she joined the IT team as a Senior Applications System Engineer at the University of Washington!

This fun-loving mother is survived by her four children Brett Hurst, Lacey Hurst, Jared Hurst, and Kimberly (Tierra) Jenkins. She is also survived by her mother Barbara, two brothers, Mark (Rhonda) Tissiere of Odell, IL and Todd (Christine) Tissiere of Pontiac, IL along with her nieces & nephews, Dustin (Cullen, Coven) Tissiere, Amanda Tissiere, Brooklyn Tissiere, Joseph (Taryn, Barrett, Holland) Tissiere, Nathan (Kristi) Tissiere, and Travis Tissiere.

In some of her darkest hours she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe & Betty Tissiere, Ned & Mary Barnett, and her dad, Ralph J. Tissiere

Khristi was filled with a passion for life and knowledge. She dearly loved her newfound home and would marvel at the wonders of the world around her, every sight a miracle to behold with appreciation and amazement plain to see on her face. Whether, she was viewing a mountain in the distance or gazing out across the ocean. It is because of this sense of awe that Khristi would wish for everyone to, “Have a beautiful day, no matter how much it rains outside or in your heart.”
