Claudia was born January 22, 1935 to Victor and Elizabeth (Weber) Crothers in Seattle, WA and died July 14, 2018 in Stanwood, WA. She married Frank Wiborg September 26, 1953 and had 4 children with him. Claudia married her second husband Bob Elder June 2, 1973 and they were married until his death on September 27, 2014.

Claudia had a zest for life and believed in hard work. She worked at a newspaper company, Boeing, Northwest Hospital and ran her husband’s business, Elder Heating Service, for 13 years. She had a career as a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker and Windermere Realty for 14 years until she retired in 2001.

In her personal life she also knew how to work hard and have fun. Her house was generally immaculate, her yard was beautiful, she had big, wonderful dinners with friends and family and knew how to entertain.

She was the President of the Women’s Oil Heat Institute, President of The Pebblebrook Ladies Niners Golf Club, participated in many activities and clubs including bowling, pinochle, sailing, shooting, just to name a few. She loved to travel and saw many places with her family and friends. Claudia was a snowbird between Seattle and Sun City West, AZ for 12 years. She always enjoyed social activities and connecting with others up until the day she died.

She left a warm impression on most people for her kindness, quirkiness and her sense of humor. Her kids will remember her as a wonderful Mom who was caring but not overbearing, taught us responsibility and to stand on our own two feet. Her home and heart were always warm and welcoming even after we flew the coop. She had a great life.

Claudia was preceded in death by her husband Bob Elder, her brother Bruce Crothers, and two granddaughters, Melissa and Kimberly. She leaves behind her 4 children, Chris Wiborg, Brent Wiborg, (Rowena), Glenn Wiborg and Lisa Ivey (Ken), her stepchildren Vickie Elder (Robert), Lynn Elder (Sean) and Bob Elder, Jr. (Liz) and 13 grandchildren.

Private internment will be held at Evergreen Washelli at a future date. Rest In Peace Mom.
