Brett Laurence Ehlers
February 8, 1961 - December 31, 2017
Brett Laurence Ehlers, born to Ronald and Patsy Ehlers in Seattle, Washington on February 8, 1961, died unexpectedly on December 31, 2017 at home due to hypertension and congestive heart failure. Brett lived with Ron and Pat in Langley and loved to call Whidbey Island his home.
Brett graduated from Interlake High School in Bellevue, Washington and also attended Bellevue Community College and Pepperdine University in California. Although struggling with mental illness throughout much of his adulthood, Brett still loved to travel with Ron and Pat. They traveled together to Egypt in 1996 and Italy in 1997, as well as countless trips to both Hawaii and Mexico over the years. Brett also loved local road trips to get out and see the natural beauty of Washington State. He loved music, especially the oldies up to some classical and his favorite singer, Frank Sinatra. Brett was fun, loving and affectionate and will be dearly missed.
Brett is survived by his parents, Ronald and Patsy Ehlers of Langley, his brother Avery Ehlers (Connie) of Port Orchard and many extended family members. He was predeceased by his sister Laurie Jean Ehlers and niece Mackenzie Ehlers.
