Margaret Elizabeth Schiff Enderlein

January 26, 1924 - April 23, 2018

Margaret Elizabeth Schiff Enderlein (Peggy) peacefully passed away on April 23, 2018.  Born in Seattle on January 26, 1924 to parents Helen Martha Harrington Schiff and Charles Armand Schiff, Peggy loved the Pacific Northwest and was passionate about the out of doors dedicating much of her life work to the conservation of wild lands near and far.

She is survived by her brother Charles Schiff (Janet) of Kirkland; sons Andreas Enderlein of Seattle, Kaj Enderlein of Orcas Island, Christoph Enderlein (Mary-Clayton) of Mill Creek and Edward Enderlein (Marcia)of Seattle.  Peggy is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Kyle Palmer, Colin Enderlein, Erik Enderlein, Piper Enderlein and Miles Enderlein.

A special travel opportunity that changed Peggy’s life occurred in 1950 when she traveled to Scandinavia with a group of folk dancers from Seattle.  She met her husband Johann Friedrich Enderlein (now deceased) of Berlin, Germany while on tour when she stayed in a family home in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Peggy and Johann married in Seattle in 1954 raising four sons and weaving Swedish, German and American cultures together.

She expressed her love of life, family and friends through her abundant outreach by phone, hand written letters as well as visits to friends and family often with a freshly made coffee cake in hand.  Peggy was enthusiastic, compassionate and always up for a walk rain or shine.
