Rodney Philip Hudson Rabanal

May 18, 1992 - October 29, 2017

Friends and family gathered together to say good bye to our beloved Rodney on October 29, 2017 at Harborview Medical Center.  Rodney was taken from us unexpectedly and tragically – he was only 25 years old.  Rodney was born in Seattle Washington on May 18th, to Kathleen Hudson and Felipe Rabanal and was raised in the Wallingford area for the majority of his early life.  Rodney was a thrill seeking, adventurous child who loved sports and any outdoor activity.  Whether he was snowboarding, snowmobiling, waterskiing, wakeboarding, or riding his bike, he would do it with great intensity and athleticism.

Rodney loved to travel with his grandparents, Lynn and Karen Hudson and his sister Angelina; he would later carry this love of travel to the Philippines to explore his Filipino heritage.  Rodney had an infectious laugh, a warm smile and a kind heart.  He made friends easily and the moment you met him, you knew he was going to be a very special person in your life.  Co-workers at J & S Masonry remember what a hard worker he was as an apprentice mason and how they appreciated his upbeat and helpful attitude while on the job.

Rodney’s life was full of potential prior to his death but it was in death that he was able to give life to others as an organ donor.  Rodney is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Lynn and Karen Hudson, his paternal grandparents Paul and Nenita Rabanal, his mother Kathleen and Uncle Gary Hudson.  He is survived by his father Felipe Rabanal, sister Angelina Rabanal and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
