Francis Joao

June 07, 1944 - May 18, 2017

A warm and generous person and was loved by many friends

Francis (Tubby) Joao passed away at the age of 72 on May 18th, 2017 at Providence Hospice Care Center in Everett, WA from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

Francis was born June 7th 1944, in Molokai, HI to Raymond “Sonny" Joao and Margaret Duvauchelle Joao. He grew up with 4 siblings, Conrad,  Dennis, Dagmar and Colleen and attended Hawaiian Mission Academy and Kalani High School. In Hawaii, he worked construction and as an auto mechanic. He moved to Washington State in 1980 and worked as a mechanic for another 25 years.

He was the proud father of Robert, 48 and Rubie, 22 and "Big P" to Robert's son Noah. Francis enjoyed watching the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks, building model cars and puzzles. He collected eagles and whales and had a fascination with ink pens - and signing his name on everything!

Francis was incredibly passionate and proud of his family. He is survived by his children Robert (and wife Dawn) and Rubie, grandson Noah, his sister Colleen and former wife Nancy. He was a warm and generous person and was loved by many friends.

FUNERAL INFORMATION

A Celebration of Life is planned for 2pm June 25th, 2017 at Bobby's Hawaiian Restaurant 14626 Hwy 99 #101, Lynnwood, WA 98087.
