Ardell Lorraine Morgan
January 18, 1924 - June 24, 2020
Ardell Lorraine Morgan passed away peacefully June 24, 2020 in Edmonds, WA. Due to the COVID19 Pandemic, she was surrounded by her family in spirit, but her daughter was able to be by her side.
Her life began January 18, 1924 in Cottonwood, Idaho. Ardell always loved education, she was the Valedictorian of her High School, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Eastern Washington University, and obtained her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Washington. She was very proud of her Tawanka Honor’s Society membership and was an active member well into her 90’s. She instilled her love of education upon her loved ones.
Her passions were teaching, reading, fishing and working in Special Education. After she got her Master’s in Education, she taught Special Education at Seguin School for 7 years, then she worked as the Director of Seguin for 8 years. She secured approval of Seguin as the first private special education high school in the state. She was a Parliamentarian for the Washington State Special Education Advisory Council and she served as an Executive Board Member for the Washington State Special Education Coalition.
Ardell was not only passionate about education, she loved her family. She was one of 6 children and she was always very close to her siblings. She married Daniel Morgan in 1943 and they had 3 children.
Ardell is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel (Duke) and survived by her three children, Kim, Kelly and Marla, their spouses, three grandchildren Alanna, Larissa and Daniel and 5 great grandchildren. Her family brought her great joy.
She had a 90th birthday party to celebrate life as she insisted, she did not want a funeral. However, a celebration of life will be held in the future, when it is safe for everyone to travel and gather!
Her motto was to ‘live life to the fullest’ and that she did.
