David Manning Inglesby

January 17, 1936 – June 25, 2021

David (“Dave”) Inglesby passed away on June 25, 2021, at the age of 85, in Mountlake Terrace, WA.

Dave graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1953, and in 1955 married Carol, his wife of 66 years. They raised two daughters, Karen and Pamela, in Ballard. The family traveled often, including camping along the west coast and special trips to Hawaii, San Francisco and Disneyland. Dave was proud that his daughters both earned college degrees, pursued professional careers, and continued to travel as adults.

Dave worked for Boeing for 35 years, as a draftsman and engineering liaison. He spent the last ten years of his Boeing career in Lancaster, CA, with short stints in New York and Michigan. Dave loved his job but retired early at age 55 so he and Carol could pursue their many other interests. They moved to Sequim, WA, where they lived until 2020.

After retirement, Dave threw himself into his hobbies: woodworking, golf, jazz, and travel. He and Carol roamed the U.S. and Canada in their trailer, toured Central and South America, and traveled through Europe by barge. Dave built his dream workshop in his back yard where he made furniture, birdhouses, decorative boxes and other beautiful items for family and friends. He played golf regularly and helped organize tournaments at the Dungeness Golf Course. He attended jazz festivals and concerts throughout the northwest. He and Carol spent many winters at Sun Village in Surprise, Arizona, where they met up with other Seattle area sunbirds at Mariners spring training games. Dave will be remembered for his sense of humor and do-it-yourself spirit.

Dave is survived by his wife, Carol Inglesby, daughters Karen and Pamela Inglesby, and sister Carolyn Mandile.
