Donald Wayne Gilhousen

November 13, 1929 - November 1, 2019

Donald Wayne Gilhousen passed away peacefully on November 1, 2019, at the age of 89 years.

He was born on November 13, 1929 in Anacortes, Washington.  His first car was a 1933 Ford Coup which he purchased with money he’d saved from strawberry picking.  He was employed by Scott Paper Company and worked in receiving until his retirement after 30 years of loyal service.  Donald was also an active member of both the Eagles and the Elks clubs in Anacortes, and he was a reservist with the US Army National Guard, retiring at the rank of Sergeant First Class.

He was a quiet man with a dry sense of humor who loved to hunt, fish, and go clam digging.  He loved his hunting dogs, all Springer Spaniels and all named “Sid”.   In his later years he traveled to Mexico, Nicaragua and Bali with his daughter Gae.  He resided in Snohomish County near his daughter Lisa at the time of his death.

Donald is preceded in death by his siblings, his niece JoAnn Ryan and his grandson Jacob Hansen. He is survived by his daughters Lisa Hansen (Dave), Gae Gilhousen, his grandchildren Allison Hansen Trimble (David), Mark Hansen (Katie), AJ Hansen, and his great-granddaughter Lily Hansen. No Services.
