Speaking
Char has been speaking about home funerals and green burials since 2006, when she first started making plans for A Sacred Moment. She is a key speaker about “greener” practices to the funeral industry, lecturing at conventions of the National Funeral Director’s Association (NFDA) and the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA) as well as in college and university classes. She regularly speaks to audiences of hospice clinicians, hospital chaplains, churches and spiritual communities and has been interviewed for stories on MSNBC.com, NPR, and PBS.
Char is ready to share funeral trends, home funerals and green burials in whatever setting is right for you. Speaking engagements work best if you contact our office and let us know what you have in mind. You organize the event, and we will be there to inspire and inform you about home funerals, green burials, and how to join our growing community for change.
Webinars
Webinars are an ideal way to receive more education about home funerals and green burials. From the convenience of your own home, you can receive information while networking with other interested people. All you need is a computer, internet access, and a phone.
Workshops
We currently offer an annual one-day workshop at Bastyr University. This is a great introductory training and can provide information and networking opportunities for you to begin your exploration of home funeral and green burial work.
A family or community can also request that we create a workshop or training geared specifically to their needs. This can be a half-day, full-day, or weekend event.
