Susan (Susie) Virginia Backstrom passed away on April 2, 2016, in Everett, Washington, after a long and courageous struggle with COPD. She was 54 years old.

Susie was born in Seattle, Washington, on October 6, 1961, to Walter and Lucylle Stephens.

She fell in love with Michael Backstrom when they were 17 years old, and they were married for many happy years.

Susie loved to garden and to walk on the beach. She was a very warm, loving person, and her sweet smile and care for her family and friends will be greatly missed.

Susie is survived by her husband, Michael; son, Michael, Jr.; daughters, Jennifer and Sara; brother, Richard; sisters, Shiela, Kim, Sheryl, Heidi, and Heather; and grandchildren, Kaliona, Jaden, Jaxson, Aden, Emma, Riliey, and Isabella.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lucylle.

FUNERAL INFORMATION

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 11, at The Vine Church in Kenmore, 6214 Bothell Way NE. The funeral will begin at 1pm, preceded by a viewing at noon.

Immediately following the funeral, a graveside service will be held at Floral Hills Cemetery in Lynnwood, 409 Filbert Road.
