Brian was born on October 21, 1968 and passed away unexpectedly on October 7, 2019 from heart failure. Brian spent his childhood in Kirkland attending local schools, playing soccer and basketball as a young boy. He was involved in scouting both as a Cub and Boy Scout in Troop 53 in Seattle. He really loved bowling, starting in junior league and continuing to bowl in leagues his entire life.

Brian followed sports teams of all kinds, was an avid collector of baseball memorabilia and was always a statistical resource for the rest of the family. He enjoyed attending Seahawk and Mariner games, and he was also a lifelong Dodger fan, even going to one of their games in LA. His family also followed the NHL San Jose Sharks Hockey team traveling to the Bay Area to take in a game.

He found a comfortable “home” in Everett, enjoying the smaller town vibe, including attending Everett AquaSox minor league baseball (home and away games) and Everett Silvertips hockey games. He even enjoyed attending deafening monster truck competitions with Christopher. Of course, Brian most enjoyed attending his children’s baseball games, even though there were many that often times involved travel.

Brian also loved the outdoors. He went on many hiking adventures with his family and especially liked to visit the Oregon Coast for vacations.

Brian loved food and even taught himself to cook, improvising recipes and turning out great dishes! He worked in retail for many years but dealt with health challenges most of his adult life, starting with a severe kidney infection at the age of 23 followed by other serious health issues the last several years.

He was blessed with his loving wife Jeanne (nee Hedwall) for over 20 years, daughter Stephanie (Jason Butler), son Christopher, and year old granddaughter Gianna Butler. He is also survived by parents Jim and Eileen Yoshida, sister Erin and nephew Nathan Coppinger.

We are all grateful for his life and the many gifts he left with us. We will especially miss his kindness and keen sense of humor.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov 2 at 11am at St Peter’s Episcopal Parish, 1610 South King Street in Seattle 98144.
