Charlene Schultz

October 25, 1931 - April 27, 2019

Charlene Schultz, born October 25, 1931 passed away on Saturday April 27, 2019 at the age of 87 years old from the complications of Alzheimer’s. Born in Gray, Oklahoma on the family homestead, the family moved to San Bernardino, California when she was very young.

She married William (Bill) Adams and together they had four children, Paul (Mike), Timothy, Sherri and Lisa. The family moved to Washington in 1968. In 1971 Charlene earned her college degree from Western Washington University.  Instead of teaching, which was her original plan, she became an insurance agent.

In 1974 she moved to Redding, CA where she married Herb Hoge a year later. She worked in the insurance business her entire career, first working for another broker and then owing her own agency. After their retirements they moved back to Washington. They were married for almost 25 years when Herb passed away in 1996.  In 1997 she and Bill reunited and they were together until he passed away in 1998.

Charlene married Robert (Bob) Schultz in 2003. They were active members of the Unity Church in Mount Vernon, WA.  About the same time Bob passed away in 2016 Charlene was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

During her last 6 months she received very special care from Steve and Jane at the #1 Angels of Comfort Adult Family Home in Marysville. The family is very grateful for their special love and care they gave her!

Charlene was preceded in death by her husbands, as well as her daughter Lisa (1999) and her son Tim (2017). She is survived by her children Mike and Sherri (both of Marysville), her Sister, Linda Brook (Cherry Valley, CA), Brother -in- law, Tom Adams of Ohio, Daughter- in- Law, Vicki Adams (Arlington).  She has 5 grandchildren, John Adams, Malynda McCarter, Matt and Nick Flatt, and Eryn Ohrt and their spouses. Charlene also leaves behind 11 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nephews and nieces, and grand nephews and nieces.

Following her wishes she will be interned at Tahoma National Cemetery in Maple Valley, WA, next to Herb.
