Herbert Anderson
July 4, 1934 - February 4, 2019
On February 4th, 2019, my friend and father, Herbert “Andy” Anderson, joined the angels. He was 84 years old and was born in Jelgava, Latvia, 1934 on the fourth of July.
Destined by his birthdate, he immigrated to the US as a teenager, then joined the Army Special Forces. He remained in service to his country as a highly decorated Reservist until the age of 60.
He loved his work at the Seattle Center as a sound engineer, especially his years running sound for the Super Sonics then our Seattle Storm.
He was an avid boater & fisherman, traveler, and a Ham radio icon. He will be missed around the world with K7GEX now silent.
Dad was preceded in death by his parents John and Alma Anderson and his son David. Descendants remaining are myself, Tamela Zamperin, 4 beautiful grandchildren from his son David: Zane, Rebecca, Jessica, and Jana, and a tribe of amazing great-grandkids. Dad is also survived by his brother John Jr, & sister Rasma, and will be dearly missed by his girlfriend Ann.
He will be laid to rest at Tahoma National Cemetery at 12:30pm on 2/25/2019 with honors. Memorial to follow at the home of Steve & Pam, fellow members of the Carver Cruisers Yacht Club.
