Jackie Weber

Jackie Weber, formally known as Kathleen R. Weber, peacefully entered the arms of her Lord and Savior on June 4, 2020 at the age of 84. Jackie was born on October 17, 1935 in Casper, WY to Hugh S. and Amy E. Bryan.
Kathleen Weber was nicknamed “Jackie” when she was young, by a family friend who thought she looked like Jack Dempsey, the championship prize fighter of the 1920’s. This cherished family friend would also refer to her as “Dempsey” until her passing, but it was the name “Jackie” that stuck throughout her life. Just like she adored her friends, she would embrace the nickname, and would be called “Jackie” by friends and family.
Jackie met her husband Maurice A. Weber at a high school dance, and later in life they would move to Edmonds, WA with their young children. Jackie lost Maurice at just age 36 from a heart attack that left her widowed and a single mom of four young children. Yet, for everyone who has known and loved Jackie, her strength and more importantly the community she built in her home in Edmonds only extended her family. At any given time, her home was filled with friends, neighbors, and grandchildren who knew her as Mom or Grammy, and she readily opened her arms, heart, and home to everyone, even their pets. In doing so, Jackie acquired family in nearly every circle and season of her life, including her church, prayer circles, and the loving friends she gathered on her journey.
One thing Jackie undoubtedly shared with all of us, is her faith, and love for her family, friends and animals. Living with Alzheimer’s for several years before death, it was the love of her family, friends, and church that gave her happiness whether it was through visits, phone calls, or prayers. She knew how blessed she was and never took that for granted. In trying times, when her disease progressed, Jackie had the ability to charm her doctors, nurses and caregivers, and make special memories with them. With family and friends, she always had a sense of humor, and did her best to be present for her loved ones even in her most difficult moments. We are blessed to have Jackie in our hearts where she will stay forever.
Jackie is preceded in death by husband Maurice, and is survived by children Michael Weber (Terri), Maureen Miller, Dawn Little (Brett), and James Weber (Peter); sisters Rita Bryan and Patty Collea (Carl); nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
