Patricia Eleanor Glasgow
August 5, 1931- December 8, 2022
Patricia Eleanor Glasgow, age 91, died in her sleep at home on December 8, 2022. Patricia (Pat) was born August 5, 1931, in Lisbon, North Dakota, the second of four children born to Glenn Buell and Harriet (Muzzy) Buell.
Pat graduated from Marysville High School in 1949, attended Everett Junior College and enlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserve (WAVES). She attended Great Lakes Naval Training Center and was honorably discharged in 1953 as a Reserve Officer Candidate (ROC). While traveling the U.S. with a friend in 1953 – 55, Pat met her future husband, Ben Glasgow, in Virginia Beach. They married March 17, 1956, at her parents' home in Marysville, WA.
Pat worked at Pacific Northwest Bell in Seattle, and the Seahorse and Everett Yacht Club restaurants in Everett. In 1969 she opened and operated a small business, Best Sitters & Homemakers, later expanding services and changing the name to AAA Sitters, Homemakers and Nurses. Pat was a trailblazer for women business owners moving up the workforce in a time when few women were entrepreneurs. She retired in 1999.
Pat had many interests and was active in her community through service groups and clubs. She was involved for many years in Probus Club and her Investment Club and volunteered with the Assistance League/Operation School Bell, Altrusa Club, and Everett Police Department’s Citizen Volunteers Against Crime program. She was an avid reader, loved to dance, play ping pong, attend concerts and plays, and each year looked forward to the Evergreen State Fair. She was a globetrotter and took pleasure in trains, cruises and seeing the world as she trekked around the U.S., American continents, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia with her husband Ben Glasgow, her children, grandchildren, and friends.
Pat’s large, extended family meant everything to her – she was never happier than when she called a party, and everyone came. Her December Hearty hors d’oeuvre Party was epic. She adored her 5 grandchildren; time spent and adventures with her 8 great-grandchildren was a blessing like no other.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Glasgow, both her parents, her siblings Meredith Buell Grant, James Buell, Roberta Buell Matulich, and stepsister Robin Woods. She is survived by her stepsister, Kathleen (Kit) Woods, sister-in-law Vera (Dire) Buell, her children, Sheila Glasgow Anderson (Dale Anderson), Kasi Glasgow Wallace (Dave Wallace), Leslie Glasgow Vincent (Gary Vincent); grandchildren Galen Wallace (Alicia [Fliger] Wallace), Rylee (Wallace) Sundquist (David Sundquist), Erin (Wallace) Smith (Brian Smith), Cory Anderson (Janelle [Hammer] Anderson), Haley Anderson; 8 greatgrandchildren, Hudson and Raegan Wallace, Nadia, Seeley and Amelia Sundquist, Caleb and Connor Smith, Wesley Anderson, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pat’s family expresses thanks to all who called, sent cards, flowers, letters, and/or visited her during the difficult last year of her life.
