Richard Lee Espinosa, 63, of Everett, Washington passed away on June 25, 2021 at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
Richard was born on April 4, 1958 in San Diego, CA to Richard and Antonia Espinosa. At the age of one his family moved to Burley, Idaho where Richard spent his youth and graduated from Burley High School in 1976.
After graduating, Richard became a very gifted commercial painter and wallpaper installer. He worked in this industry his entire life and also did custom work for family and friends. He lived and worked in Idaho, Colorado, Kwajalein Island, then settled in Everett, Washington where he retired from Long Painting in 2019.
He spent his youth in the beautiful state of Idaho where he developed a passion for the outdoors; enjoying fishing, hunting and hiking. He was artistic, loved music, and delighted in playing his guitar. He had a zest for life and loved socializing which cultivated a network of lifelong friendships. He was blessed with a natural ability to attract people and connect with them. His charismatic personality embodied compassion, enthusiasm and wit. If you knew “Rich” his motto was “You don’t stop having fun when you get old, you get old when you stop having fun.”
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Richard Lee Espinosa and Antonia Edwards. He is survived by the love of his life Myra Layer; Everett, Washington; daughter, Amber Fox of Idaho; brother, Michael (Sherri) Espinosa of Idaho; sister, Melinda (Tom) McCorkle of Washington; sister, Melissa Espinosa (Paul Ockerman) of Washington; sister, Sonya (Rick) Willison of Idaho.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the love, support, prayers and all other acts of kindness; including Providence Regional Medical Center Everett and their Hospice Care Center for their professionalism, care, and compassion.
