Obituaries

Evalyn Frances Murnan

October 12, 1930 - February 11, 2017

The center piece of her life was her family

Evie was a loving and kind soul and made a positive impact on all who knew her. Evie passed on to Heaven the morning of February 11th. That week Evie was surrounded by family and good friends sharing love, laughter and of course lots of stories!

Evie was born on October 12th, 1930 in Humphry, Nebraska to Peter and Margaret Noonan. Evie was one of five sisters and one brother in the Noonan family. She grew up on a farm in central Nebraska and had many fond memories and stories of life on the farm with her family.

Evie was a long time active member of Our Lady of the Lake Church and was a member of the Saint Veronica Guild. Evie worked in Financial Counseling at the University of Washington Hospital for over 15 years, retiring in 1999.

Evie loved being in her garden and on her deck surrounded by beautiful flowers. The center piece of her life was her family. She loved family gatherings and for many years always hosted Christmas dinner for the entire family at her house in Wedgewood. Evie loved her daughter and son Renee and Dan, but later in life the sparkle in her eyes was for her grandchildren Brian, Brooke, Luke and Lucy. She would, and did, everything for her grand kids and God forbid if anyone took issue with one her grand kids!

Evie leaves behind her daughter and son Renee (Bob) and Dan (Amy), and four grandchildren, Brian (Amy), Brooke (Ben), Luke and Lucy. She will be missed greatly by her two sisters Pat and Dorothy along with many close relatives and good friends.

A special thanks to Evie's three caregivers, Mimi, Mia and Alem and everyone else that pitched in to take such wonderful care of her over the years. Thank you to NEST, who took Evie to appointments while providing friendship and support. Special thanks to Evergreen Hospice who provided excellent care and support over the last few months.
