Barbara “Bobbie” Jean Lewis

Barbara “Bobbie” Jean Lewis, age 77, of Everett, Wash., died on Jan. 11, 2021, due to complications from COVID-19.
Bobbie was born on Jan. 31, 1943, in Danville, Ill., to Robert E. and LaVerne Clemmons Lewis. For most of her first 6 years, she was raised by her loving aunt Laverne “Bernie” Meek. Her childhood was spent in Illinois, Texas, and California. After attending Rosemead High School in California, Bobbie returned to her childhood hometown of Danville, Ill., to work with her aunt and uncle in their produce business. She married Buck Lindsey and they had a son James. Following a divorce, Bobbie lived in California for a time, before making her home in Edmonds, Wash. She later moved to Everett, where she lived for many years. Bobbie was a hard worker with many talents. She worked various jobs, including apartment manager, caregiver, bartender, landscaper, and cook specializing in home cooking.
Though she had a hard life, Bobbie remained cheerful and positive. She was hospitable and generous, and was a loyal friend. She enjoyed cooking, camping, grilling outdoors, her dogs, bowling, poker, pool—and good times with her friends.
Bobbie was loved by her family and she loved them deeply. Though the miles separated them much of their lives, Bobbie and her sister Judi were always close and were always there for each other. Just 13 months apart, Bobbie and Judi were more like twins. When her great-grandson Roman was born, Bobbie traveled to Illinois to be there for his birth. Staying in touch with her granddaughters Brenda and Alycia, and watching Roman grow, brought her a lot of joy.
Bobbie is survived by her sister Judi Lewis Sandidge, of Boise, Idaho; her granddaughters, Brenda Lindsey of Arizona, and Alycia Lindsey, of Carbondale, Ill.; a great-grandson Roman Lindsey; and her niece, nephew, and great-nieces and nephews in Idaho, Seattle, and France. She is preceded in death by her parents, her aunt Bernie, her brother Ron, and her son James “Jimmy” Lindsey.

No services will be held due to the pandemic, and her ashes will be spread at a later date.
