David Charles Wild
October 22, 1963 - December 8, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of David Charles Wild announces his passing on December 8, 2021, at the age of 58.
David was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, on October 22, 1963, to parents Peter Bolton Wild and Andre Bonner-Menary. As a child, David enjoyed spending time with his brother on his grandparent’s farm in Zambia. In 1977, David immigrated to the United States with his dear mother, Andre, and older brother, Craig. They settled in the state of Florida.
In the late 1980’s, David moved to Washington State and lived on Whidbey Island near his brother, Craig, and his family. David loved living in his beachfront home and working as a lead chef in a local five-star restaurant, Kasteel Franzen. He always had a passion for cooking, and was very talented at it. In 1997, he purchased a home and moved to Marysville to work at Boeing as a mechanic on the 737, 747, 777 and 787 planes. He was a trusted employee at Boeing for nearly 20 years.
David cared deeply about his family, and that was the heart and soul of who he was. As a devoted son, brother, uncle, and granduncle, he experienced great joy and pride in his family. Kindhearted, and convivial, David especially enjoyed family gatherings. He was always willing to manage the barbecue and help carve the holiday roast. With a ready smile and jovial laugh, David helped us all celebrate the joy of being together.
David enjoyed traveling, especially with his mother Andre, and dad, Jock. One of his favorite places to visit was the beautiful island of Maui because he loved the sunshine and ocean. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching baseball, and football, but David’s true passion was golf. He absolutely loved playing golf with his mother, dad, and brother and was never hesitant to share that it was the best sport in the world. Possessing a keen interest in genealogy, David also loved learning about his extended family.
Devoted to his family, David was a gentle soul, kind to everyone, and beloved by all. He is survived by his older brother, Craig; sister-in-law, Jo; niece, Jenna and husband Anders; great nieces Scarlett, Rose, and Olivia; extended family Kay-Lynn, Amy, and Terry; and many loving family members in Washington, the United Kingdom and South Africa. We will all deeply miss our dear David.
