Obituaries

Rosemary Krilich

January 17, 1945 - October 21, 2021

It is with tender hearts that we announce the passing of Rosemary Krilich. Rosemary died peacefully at the age of 76 after struggling with dementia.

Born in Tacoma, WA, to Anna and Anton Krilich, Rosemary was the youngest of 6 children. She is survived by her siblings, Francis Shensky, Anna Joers, and Tom Krilich, and by her beloved nephew, Joseph Shensky, niece, Jennifer Sundstrom, and dear friend, Mali McGolden, as well as a large extended family.

Rosemary was fiercely independent and eschewed the traditional women’s role, instead choosing a career. She retired from the US Postal Service after 48 years of service. Not being a car owner, Rosemary was a pro at navigating the Seattle bus system, and loved walking the streets of Capital Hill, and Queen Anne, where she owned her own home. Rosemary deeply loved animals, and along with her many cats and dogs she lived with over the years, she also generously donated to many animal causes, and other charities. She loved sports (Go Storm! Go Mariners!), and, as a season ticket holder, enjoyed being in the crowd at many games. An avid book reader, especially science fiction, Rosemary was also a lifelong Star Trek fan, along with many other TV shows. Most of all, Rosemary cherished family, and often remembered entertaining her many nieces and nephews with her story telling.

Rosemary will be interred with her mother, Anna Katich Krilich, at Calvary Cemetery, Tacoma, WA.

Memories and stories of Rosemary’s life can be shared here, and friends and family are welcome to sign the guestbook.
